Angela Civale Abate is based in Westchester, NY with her loving husband and beautiful son. She is an established artist in all aspects of fashion, celebrity, editorial, beauty and bridal. Her work has taken her all over the East coast and abroad, allowing her to work with many established photographers, videographers, dancers, celebrities, writers and high end clientele.

Angela has an extensive background in many different brands as she has  grown in the industry from  starting out as a Head Makeup Artist for Bobbi Brown for 3 years to Business Manager at Nars for 7 years with accounts at Barneys, Neimans and Bergdorf Goodman to a role as Regional Manager of the East Coast for brands such as Tarte and Make Up For Ever. Skin care is very important, especially since it serves as the canvas for makeup application. Angela is well versed in which brands to select for each skin type and help guide her clients for the results they have been yearning for.

Angela believes in coming out of your comfort zone so you can understand what you love and explore new options. When we stick with the same thing every day, whether it be a hair look, we get bored and stop challenging our minds and bodies. Makeup is art and can bring a smile to someones face when they look in the mirror and feel pretty. “That is all I desire and to teach my clients,” says Angela.

Growing up as a child Angela always had a passion for the arts and received many awards in school for calligraphy and painting. She received her artistic talents from her father, a world renown artist. She used to watch her father paint in the basement when he would come home from work and watch how all the colors mixed together to create beautiful images.

Spending every summer in Florence Italy as a child, her parents introduced the world of art to her at a very young age which she embraced with open arms. Color theory is imperative to understand in order to distinguish correct undertones and palettes for your clients, as well as corrective makeup with highlight and contour. Angela focuses on understanding the needs of her clients and creates customized looks that represents their style and enhances their features.

“It is important to constantly reinvent myself, try new things and not be afraid of change. I know that makeup is an enhancement and is about bringing out ones best features in a way that brightens their day and lives,” adds Angela.

With over 20 years of experience,having worked side by side by some of the most talented artists in the world, Angela is a true perfectionist in every way. From diversifying her techniques and always continuing to educate herself on new styles, new trends and new products.
